Dolphin “Swim on the Wild Side” season.


On Saturday the 18th October from 9am to 3pm, come and join in the fun and enjoy the family Open Day at the Dolphin Discovery Centre.   With free entry and loads of activities there is something for everyone.

Bouncy Castles – Crafty Corner – Wildlife Rescue Animals – Facepainting – special appearances from GWN7’s Doopa Dog, Chester the Times Tiger and Louie the Dolphin – Cultural dance, art and storytime workshops for the kids – learn to fish – live entertainment all day – Special Dolphin Eco Cruises run every hour – Introduction of the new Dolphin Tram Shuttle and more.  Celebrate 25 years of history and toast another 25 years! Dolphin Eco Cruises
The cruises leave every hour from 10am, they are 45min each and a great opportunity to see the wild dolphins of Koombana Bay.

FREE Fishing Clinics

For kids from 5 onwards, learn to cast, use a fishing rod and have fun while fishing on the beach, clinics are at 10.30am and 1pm and go for about an hour each, parental supervision is appreciated at the time of the clinic.  When you book please supply your childs name and age and which timeslot you prefer.  Email to book.

FREE Art Workshops

Different to our art and craft corner, this workshop will be a guided class through creating a special wooden tile to add to our special 25th Anniversary Underwater Scene, the workshops are about an hour or so long at 11am, 12.30pm or 2pm and are suitable for children 6 and over.  When you book please let us know your childs name, age and which timeslot you prefer.  They will be held in our volunteer room. On Sunday the 19th October from 8am to 1pm come back again and enjoy a session of beach yoga and follow it up with a Big Beach Breaky at the inaugural Dolphin Markets.  A first of many there will be a variety of stalls from fresh produce, craft stalls, live entertainment, food vans, bouncy castle, face painting and the great atmosphere of a Sunday market.  Gold Coin Donation entry, with all proceeds going towards the Dolphin Discovery Centre’s ongoing turtle rehabilitation facility.

Sunday also sees the start of our dolphin swim tour season, with our first Swim on the Wildside Encounter, to be a part of the first swim tour please make sure you book prior to the day online.

The tour starts at 7.30am to 10.30am and is $149pp for swimmers and $85 for observers, visit our swim tour page for all the details…
